The idea was conceived by Mr. Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey (Late) around 2006-2007. He was the Minister for Tourism and Modernization of the Capital City at the time. The intent for this event was to boost domestic consumption of Ghanaian chocolate and other cocoa based products whilst enhancing the tourism potentials of the country, and also to give a positive feel to the celebration of Valentine’s Day in the country.
So on Valentine’s Day, 14th February, 2007, he presented cocoa products to Osu Children’s Home to mark the official act of celebrating the first-ever National Chocolate Day in Ghana.
On this note we at Eagle Vault wish our cherished customers a HapPy Chocolate Day!
